  • Triduum Follows: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday
  • Palms: Make into crosses, give to Friends, relatives, graves, wine barrels
  • Readings:
    • Isaiah: Steadfast positioning of self to undergo the ordeal
    • Philippians: Emptying of Self
    • Gospel: Passion of Luke

TRIDUUM

Holy Thursday: Mass of the Lord’s Supper: 8pm

  • Commemorates Institution of Eucharistic Sacrifice, Sacrament, Presence, Ordination of Apostles to Offer Mass
  • Passover: Central Celebration of the People of God of Old Testament Times.  Eucharist – Central Celebration of Christianity Liturgy of Word:
Exodus The Passover Meal,   Liberation from Egypt – Entrance to Covenant
Corinthians Eucharist, Liberation of Humanity from Sin and Death – Sacrifice of the Covenant
Gospel– John Washing of the Feet, Authority in the Community is Humble Service
Washing of the Feet: Powerful Symbol of Humble Service

Procession of Eucharist to Side Altar: Special Reverence
A Powerful Moment – Agony in Garden, Arrest, Scourging,

Good Friday: Liturgy of the Passion of the Lord – 3pm (Not a Mass)

Four Scenarios Beginning : Most Powerful Moment in Liturgy Prostration in Silence
Liturgy of Word Isaiah: Suffering Servant / 5th Gospel
  Hebrews: Great High Priest / Heard because of Reverence
  Gospel: Passion of John

Holy Saturday: The Paschal Vigil – 9pm. The Solemn Celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus
