WELCOME IN BAPTISM Aida Qualiotto and Erin organ
PEACE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury pardon. Where there is doubt – faith. Where there is despair – hope. Where there is darkness – light. Where there is sadness – joy. O Divine Master grant that I may seek Not so much to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand. To be loved as to love. To be pardoned as to pardon. For it is in giving that we receive, pardoning that we are pardoned, and in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

22ND SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME
Both the Wise Man of the Old Testament Time, and Jesus call us this week to the need to be humble.
Humility is grounded in reality – it is truth. One who is humble knows his/her place in the total scheme of creation and is grateful.
Humility calls for a recognition that God is in charge – all we have is gift of the Good God, and our best response to our God is to acknowledge our brokenness and to give God a “Contrite and humble heart.”
To be humble we must know who God is – who we are – and how we are related.
God, as resident of Eternity, has everything that we perceive and live moment by moment in one ETERNAL NOW.
Before the world was made, God knew each of us – our flaws – our glories – and it was the combination of the two – saint and sinner that God loves.
The other factor in this is that God also has before Him all we will become. This we do not know yet.
When we look in the mirror in the morning, our first line should be Good morning. Second line: Thank You – You do good work.
As a poster in the 60’s once said: God made me and God don’t make Junk. And this too is humility.
