What is the Mission House?
Mission House is a vibrant, multipurpose facility at St. Patrick Parish that is open to the community and embraces youth, adults, and seniors. It is a beacon of light on the Near West Side of Cleveland that reflects and acts upon the Gospel message.
The purpose of the house is to be a welcome center– connecting city and suburb, fostering spiritual growth, working toward a just society, and celebrating life. It is used as a sacred space and serves as an educational forum to help adults and young people understand the needs of the poor and disenfranchised in the community.
Beyond awareness and education, the activities at the Mission House are meant to create a bridge between fear & understanding and to move from stereotypes to relationships. This effort is intended to foster understanding and relationships between the least of our brethren and those who can make a difference with their time and understanding, their talents, and their treasure.

About the House
The Mission House is a large, welcoming home that is available to your group for a wide range of activities. It sits on the campus of St. Patrick Parish in Cleveland.
St Patrick’s Church
St. Patrick Church was founded in 1853, and is a beautifully restored historic site in Cleveland. Embedded in the inner city, St. Patrick’s has always ministered to those living in the community, offering programs, resources, and hope.
We are a grand old parish, proud of our faith, of our heritage, of our work for others, and of the community of which we have so long been a part. The Mission House has allowed St. Patrick’s to expand its reach working with high schools, universities, suburban parishes, and social service organizations.
The Mission House has a rich history and has served St. Patrick’s Church and the community for more than 145 years through the many groups that occupied the home. It opened in 1870 as a residence for vowed religious and has been used by many different groups over the years, always serving the community. Representative ministries who have lived at the house include: Montessori Kindergarten, Marianist Brothers, Ursuline Sisters, Cuban Refugees, Jesuit Volunteers, Marianist Volunteers, and Catholic Workers. Thousands have walked the halls of the Mission House. They have shared meals, prayed together, celebrated liturgies, built community, laughed, cried, and discussed challenging and timely social issues.
A grassy field in front of the Mission House is perfect for outdoor services, activities and recreation.
A parking lot with ample parking is located behind the Mission House.
A comfortable living room with a couch, loveseat, card/game table, TV and flexibility for additional chairs.
Max accommodation of approximately 16-20 people.
Blue Meeting Room
A meeting room with flexible arrangements . Tables and chairs are available depending on your needs.
Max accommodation of approximately 20-30 people.
A bright and airy dining room with built-in china cabinets, and a table that seats 10-14 people. Additional tables could be added to seat up to 20 people.
Note: Please share your furniture needs ahead of time, so we can reconfigure tables and chairs for you.
A fully-restored chapel, with beautiful stained glass windows, shining colors of blue, red, purple, and green. It is available for intimate prayer gatherings.
Kitchen & Laundry
A newly renovated kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee pot, cookware, serving dishes, dinnerware, kitchen linens, and utensils.
Washer, dryer and cleaning supplies are also available.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
- 11 modest bedrooms (7 singles and 4 doubles) – 15 Total Beds
- 1 Apartment suite with a double bed
Modest bedrooms consisting of an air mattress for a bed, lamp, night stand, closet with hangers, and rug. Sleeps a maximum of 16 people in total. All bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor and not currently handicapped accessible.
- 2 half-baths on first floor
- 2 restrooms on second floor, each with 2 showers
- Apartment suite has full bathroom
All bathrooms are newly renovated.
If you have a need for a larger facility, a large parish hall is located adjacent to the Mission House. The following facilities are available:
- Lower Hall – Accommodates up to 200 People with an industrial kitchen
- Oak Room – Accommodates up to 80 people with a small kitchen with household-size stove and refrigerator
- Ballroom – Accommodates up to 300 people
Booking for the Parish Hall is handled separately from the Mission House. Please ask for more details.

The Mission House and spaces throughout the Club may be rented by parishioners as well as outside groups. All rentals will require a contract. To discuss your event, contact Scott Menningen at 216-631-6872 or complete this form.

We try to follow sustainable practices at the Mission House. Please join us in caring for our common home by bringing reusable water bottles, carpooling, turning off lights, using the provided plates and silverware, and being environmentally aware during your event.

West Side Market
The oldest operating indoor/outdoor market space in Cleveland. It is located at the corner of West 25th Street and Lorain Avenue. In 1973 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. (5 min walk)
A 147-acre Lakefront Reservation located on Lake Erie. It features 9000 feet of shoreline, dog and swim beaches, boat ramps, fishing pier, picnic areas and grills and a rentable pavilion. The Edgewater Beach House is a Modern beachfront pavilion with seasonal snack bars & a bar with local draft beers & cocktails. (5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk)
Known for sports venues like the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, hosting Cavaliers basketball games, and Progressive Field, home to the Indians baseball team. The Great Lakes Science Center displays astronaut John Glenn’s space module and the USS Cod. Upscale clubs, boutiques and bistros fill the fashionable Warehouse District. (5-minute drive)

Located on the shore of Lake Erie north of Downtown, this museum recognizes the best-known artists, producers, engineers, and other notable figures who have influenced the development of rock and roll. (10-minute drive)

How many people can stay at the Mission House?
Daytime Meeting Rooms can accommodate groups of 20-30; Dining Room seats up to 12.
Overnight: The Mission House sleeps up to 16 people.
Are the rooms private? Are linens and bedding provided?
There are 7 single rooms and 4 double rooms (2 beds in one room); all beds are twin size.
Please bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows, and bath towels.
What kitchen supplies should I bring?
The kitchen is fully furnished with major appliances, coffee pot, toaster, can opener, electric skillet, a blender, hand mixer, microwave, dishes, cutlery, and serving utensils.
You will need to bring all desired food and beverages. A full-service supermarket is within a 10 minute walk of the Mission House.
Are laundry facilities available?
Yes. Both a washer and dryer are available.
Is there air conditioning?
Most of the house is cooled by window fans only. There are two window air conditioners located in the second-floor suite.
Is the facility wheelchair accessible?
The first floor of the Mission House is wheelchair accessible via a ramp. It also has a wheelchair accessible bathroom. Please inquire for other concerns about accessibility; we will do our best to accommodate all members of your group.
