Dear Parishioners and Friends,
As we celebrate this 2nd Sunday of Advent we continue to focus on the two comings of Christ. We recall His first coming as the fulfillment of God’s promise made to the people of Israel. The manner by which our Lord came into the world surprised people. In fact, many rejected the possibility that Jesus could be the Messiah since He did not meet their expectations. Regarding Christ’s second coming, we profess in the Creed that, He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Again, many people may be surprised because Christ will return in a manner that doesn’t meet their expectations.
How are we preparing for Christ’s return in glory? Are we ready to go out and greet Him upon His return? May Advent be a time for personal renewal as we refocus on what really matters for our salvation.
Please be sure to join us next Sunday, December 12th, for the annual Lessons and Carols here at Saint Patrick at 7pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Be sure to pick up your copy of the Advent/Christmas daily reflection booklet, located at the church entrances. There are also plenty of ornaments on our Giving Tree as we support the many charities in our local community.
Finally, everyone is welcome to join us for our monthly Family Mass which is celebrated on the first Sunday at 6:30pm in church. This weekend (December 5th) we have a special visitor at the end of the liturgy.
May you and your loved ones experience the beautiful graces and blessings of this holy season.
Come, Lord Jesus!
