Dear Parishioners and Friends of Saint Patrick,
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
These words found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 remind us of an important message as we gather around tables of family and friends this Thanksgiving. Regardless of circumstances, let us give thanks to the Lord who promises to walk with us and to bless us abundantly.
I invite you to join me in this litany of gratitude:
For those who share our home and for those who are knocking at our door,
thanks be to God.
For those who affirm our strengths and for those who call us to grow,
thanks be to God.
For those who raise us up and for those who make us stand on our own,
thanks be to God.
For those who have forgiven us and for those who accept our forgiveness,
thanks be to God.
For those who teach us and for those who learn from us,
thanks be to God.
For those who give to us and for those who receive what we have to offer,
thanks be to God.
For those who embrace us and for those who allow us to embrace them,
thanks be to God.
For those who show us how to live and for those who show us how to die,
thanks be to God.
For the gift of family and friends who love us,
thanks be to God.
For the gift of our faith and our freedom to exercise it,
thanks be to God.
For all that is and for all that is to come,
thanks be to God. Amen.
I personally take this opportunity to thank all of our parishioners and friends for you and the many gifts you bring to our community of faith.
Gratefully yours in Christ,
Fr. Gurnick
