Appreciate as summer ends

Dear Friends and Parishioners of Saint Patrick Parish,

“Perfect weather.”  “Delicious food.” “Nice to see so many people.” “So good to have the picnic return.” “The Mass was beautiful.” “A perfect day!”

These were just a handful of the comments people made the day of our picnic or sent to me in an email this week.   And I agree – what a wonderful experience to see over 175 folks come together for our first picnic since Covid!   It felt like a reunion for the many returning home and many new faces attending this annual event for the first time.

I want to give a special “shout out” to everyone who joined members of Parish Council to help organize and serve this year’s event.  I am also thankful for the many parishioners who donated various food and beverages as well as those who came early to set up and those who remained to help clean up – thank you, thank you, thank you!

Please join us this Monday at 9:00am Mass at Saint Malachi as our partner parishes gather for Labor Day Mass followed by a social in the parish lower hall.  This year we focus on the importance of unionized labor to promote human dignity and the common good.

Finally, let us remember our young people as they get settled into the new academic year.  May our students, parents, and teachers enjoy a safe and fruitful year!

In the peace of Christ,

Fr. Gurnick
