Dear Friends and Parishioners of Saint Patrick,
As we move into the month of May, we continue the beautiful Season of Easter. In a special way we keep our young friends in prayer as they prepare to receive their First Holy Communion. We also remember our eighth graders who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, May 18th.
You will notice on today’s bulletin cover a photo of Stephanie Pritts, our Catechetical Leader, and me receiving a tour at Metro Catholic School. Grateful to Mary Lou Toler, Director, and Angie Grieve, Enrollment and Community Relations Coordinator, for their kind hospitality we had the opportunity for an onsite visit to their St. Stephen campus on April 23. It is my hope that we can partner with a Catholic School beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year. Metro Catholic is a diocesan urban school founded by St. Michael, St. Boniface, and St. Stephen Parishes over thirty years ago when the Sisters of Notre Dame and the respective pastors approached Bishop Pilla for permission to pursue this vision. Please continue to keep our parish leadership in prayer as we continue this important process.
Please be advised that we are examining revised CDC guidelines and directives from civil and diocesan authorities on a regular basis. You may see adjustments made to our liturgical and other activities on campus in the upcoming months, including the limited return of some of our regular tenants such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Please be assured that any change or return of activities will be in compliance with all appropriate authorities. Safety on our parish campus is our first priority.
Thank you to all of our friends and parishioners who remember the financial needs of our parish on a weekly basis. Your generosity continues to make it possible for us to maintain operations and employed staff throughout the pandemic. On our part, we continue to commit ourselves to the highest standards of stewardship on behalf of the entire parish.
Be assured of my continued prayerful best wishes as we embrace the joy and blessings of this Easter Season.
Yours in the Risen Lord,
Fr. Gurnick
