· July 2, 1853 – Bishop Amadeus Rappe establishes St. Patrick Parish with Fr. James Conlon as founding pastor.
· October 1853 – Ursuline Nuns of Cleveland open school for girls in Franklin Circle.
· August 1856 – Marianists begin teaching in the boys’ school.
· August 1871 – Cornerstone of the present church building laid.
· 1873 – The Brothers’ house is built (present day Mission House)
· February 1881 – Interior of church is completed.
· April 1891 – The new school, constructed with the permission of Bishop Richard Gilmour, welcomes faculty and students.
· 1903 – Golden Jubilee of Saint Patrick. Catholic Club building complete and dedicated.
· 1912 – Marianist Brothers conclude their ministry at Saint Patrick School.
· 1913 – The present-day church building is renovated and expanded.
· 1922 – Ursulines move into the residence formerly occupied by Marianists.
· 1928 – Diamond Jubilee
· 1931 – The church building is solemnly consecrated.
· March 17, 1953 – Centenary of Saint Patrick Parish celebrated.
· 1958 – Fr. James Hussey, Society of Jesus, becomes pastor of Saint Patrick.
· 1968 – Urban Community School (combination of St. Patrick and St. Malachi) is established.
· September 1980 – Frs. Ed Camille and Mark DiNardo named co-pastors.
· October 1983 – Fire in Club building severely damages lower hall.
· December 1983 – Fr. DiNardo named sole pastor of St. Patrick
· 1985 – Urban plunge experience begins under the direction of the Catholic Worker group.
· 1990s – Several outreach ministries established
· 2003 – Sesquicentennial Celebration of Saint Patrick
· 2015 – Formerly used as a convent, Catholic Worker Home, and residence for Jesuit Volunteers, the Whitman building takes on new life as the Mission House.
· March 2018 – Fr. Michael Gurnick begins his pastorate at Saint Patrick.
· June 2019 – Urban Community School severs ties with the Diocese of Cleveland. Saint Patrick partners with Metro Catholic School.
· December 2019 – Fr. Gurnick is named Administrator of St. Malachi Parish.
· March 2020 – Saint Patrick Feast Day is cancelled due to Covid pandemic and public worship is suspended from March through May. City of Cleveland cancels St. Patrick’s Day parade.
· May 28 2020 – Public liturgies resume on Solemnity of Pentecost. Outdoor liturgies and celebration of sacraments become the temporary norm for reasons of safety.
· Most weddings postponed for 2021.
· Outdoor memorial erected between the rectory and the church to acknowledge this significant historical event. Most parish meetings conducted via Zoom or through other virtual means.
· August 2021 – 150th Anniversary of church’s cornerstone with Bishop Edward Malesic.
· July 2023 – The bishop announces his vision for Saint Patrick to work with St. Malachi in new partnership.
· August 2023 – Stella Maris leases Mission House from the parish to assist with residence for those in recovery
· October 29, 2023 – Saint Patrick welcomes Bishop Michael Woost as we celebrate our 170th Anniversary.
