We have a new bishop!

Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States, has announced that Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Edward C. Malesic (pronounced muh-LESS-ik) of the Diocese of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to serve as the 12th bishop of Cleveland.

For full details, see the announcement on the Diocese of Cleveland website.

According to a recent interview, one of the bishop’s primary objectives in his present diocese has been “expanding the Church’s communication via social media and the internet.” Now there’s a happy piece of encouragement to parishes like ours that are trying to create a faithful and welcoming web presence!
