  1. I like to be outside or looking outside when I talk with Jesus. Looking at whatever landscape is there and enjoying the beauty of nature. I am usually overwhelmed by what I see. I talk with God throughout the day beginning before I get out of bed in the morning. Listening to God is another thing. Sometimes I hear His/Her whispers throughout the day. I make a conscious decision to listen to God before I fall asleep at night. Not the best practice, like I give God 5 minutes before I fall fast asleep. Listening to God deserves much more time and attention.

  2. Today, I am that exhausted holiday cook. We didn’t want my parents driving yesterday, so we schlepped dinner to them. My mom and I have discovered that we can cook together- that wasn’t always the case. Yesterday, however, the fruits of the Holy Spirit- those nine ladies-danced about the kitchen as we peeled potatoes. But today? They seemed to have danced right out the door- tired, impatient, snappy. Maybe if I spent more time in communion with Jesus, those fruits would last longer. More importantly, if I remained in Him more consistently, I’d be prepared to recognize the One among us.
