In today’s reflection, Waiting in Joyful Hope author Michelle Francl-Donnay reflects on Psalm 27:4a, weary elephants, the art of Brother Mickey McGrath, OSFS, and today’s gospel.

After I finished reading about finding time to be alone and quiet with God, I looked up to see a commercial- tv was muted- portraying a woman retreating to her car for quiet time- no coincidence! I remember doing that when My mother-in-law stayed with us to heal her broken wrist. I could sit for 30-40 minutes, praying for grace. Jesus does answer my prayers, and I am grateful. But it has taken me 35 years to develop the instantaneous faith of the two blind men. As for Isaiah, I live in hope that the dearest ones of my life, whose spirituality is not based in Christ, will come to know Him eventually.
