Have you been quarried, cut and set?

Memorial of St. Francis Xavier – 3 December 2020

In today’s reflection, Waiting in Joyful Hope author Michelle Francl-Donnay reflects on Isaiah 26:2b-3, living stones, and the poetic wisdom of Fr. John O’Donohue.

  1. Anxiety about the future. My mother always told me I make mountains out of mole hills. When I allow myself to worry about the future, I am building my house on shifting sand. But when I remember all the times God has met our needs, I rejoice and relax onto a home set upon a Rock.

  2. Hopefully I am set in doing the will of God. Knowing that a loving God wants only good for us, I pray to do His/Her will daily. My God’s love is never changing. I am forever grateful for knowing this.

  3. Sometimes, the chisel marks are way more evident than the polishing of the grindstone. But I’m still confident that the Mason knows his craft.
